I first read this book from an airplane and was challenged to spend most of the flight in prayer for my ministry. If you are in ministry this is a must-read. I can honestly say sometimes I forget about how powerful prayer really is, and this book is a great reminder. I gave it 5 This little book on prayer is one of my favorites. However, the author's writing style did not mesh well with me. I'm not one to shy away from complicated dialogue but this was borderline ridiculous. In my opinion, Bound's points could have been stated simply and clearly and still have had the same profound effect.

No matter what technique we have or how well we know the bible, without prayer, teaching does not bring life. Prayer though can't be learnt in theory but must be practiced! No matter how many books you read on prayer it does not make you a prayer warrior.

Unfortunately, this forthrightness is busy telling the readers that there's a serious problem with people in churches because they aren't down on their hands and knees praying for hours every day. Or something like that. Okay, this was written a century ago, and the style of chastising everybody strongly was acceptable then and still happens in places , but it's definitely not my style.

This book challenged me to spend more time with God in prayer. Author also has great points for ministers as well. He shows how important to have spiritual power at the pulpit and not just eloquence and theological knowledge and education. Bounds himself spend hours in prayer every morning. You can definitely tell that when you read his book, that he is speaking from his experience. Power Through Prayer is something you need to read on a regular basis until you drive home in your mind the fact that prayer is the means in which we stay in constant communication with God.
